MUSICAL DIRECTOR: RAY AMICO

Ray Amico, born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens is a mixture of literally every aspect of the industry, from the creative, to the productive and to the managerial.  Starting out as a musician in the early 80’s in Queens, NY in his own esoteric band called “The Six And Violence” playing the Hardcore scene in NYC at such venues as CBGB’s,  Brownie’s, Zone DK, etc... and touring around the country, he soon became a Producer / Engineer of several different acts in the NY area, to then becoming a Producer / Engineer / Session player in the mid 90’s at several studios in NYC, working on projects from such artists as Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Taylor Dayne, and others on the A&M Records roster.

After being a studio engineer, several of the acts asked him to do the same on the road with them as FOH engineer, Production Manager, Tour Manager, Accountant, etc…  At that point, he hit the road for the next 20+ years straight, working with varied artists that ranged from the Beastie Boys, Nancy Sinatra, System Of A Down, Toni Braxton, Sinèad O’Connor, Kesha, The Cult, Sublime With Rome, DEVO, George Lopez, Jane’s Addiction, Jim Gaffigan, Chromeo, Joan Osborne, Fiona Apple, MIKA, Dream Theatre, Queensrychë, Jimmy Cliff, Zucchero, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Spin Doctors, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Chic, Eric Johnson, Fastball, Daryl Hall & John Oates…  to name a few..

Ray’s involvement with the project is a story in itself:  Ray moved to Rome, Italy in 2004 and was introduced to Eddie Zengeni by a mutual friend, his then girlfriend, Susanna.  At the time, Eddie was fascinated with italy and particularly the mob, as Ray is..  they both studied mob history, read books about it, and their favorite movies were "The Godfather", and “Goodfellas", which Ray has an encyclopedic knowledge of both, which was literally filmed in his neighborhood where he grew up in Queens, in his friend’s houses, right in front of him.

When Eddie and Ray met, it was kismet.  The two became best friends, and collaborators in terms of music, media, and art.  When Eddie began production of “Unredeemed”, he approached Ray to not only compose and record music specifically for the movie, but to contribute to all of the musical direction of the film.
